| overview Wedding System Getting married is about planning one big party. As designers, we couldn't afford to let this affair get managed by hands other than our own. From planning the logo options as our identity (okay, so Lisa exhibits a bit of delusions of grandeur, but Andrew knew who he was marrying!) to maintaining consistency throughout the information system, the bride and groom preserved their off-beat nature with personal touches. Because we're both of Scottish descent, we adopted this emblem from the Mary Queen of Scots. This was originally worn as the brooch on a kilt that included a sword as the pin. | overview Invitation & Memory Album We knew our part as designers is to set the tone of the wedding theme. By marrying several elements: heritage, countries (Canada + US), regions (North + South), and personalities, we exemplified and narrowed each facet to represent and complement both bride and groom. The foundation for the palate was inspired by the Northern roots of Lisa & Andrew. Birch was used as the foundation for the invitation, the green chosen from apples harvested in Autumn. | overview Dinner Placecards The placecards were not overlooked when applying the branding scheme to the event. The illustrations help the serving staff immediately recognize the dish previously selected by the guest while the logo denoted vegetarian. | overview Wedding Thank You Keepsake Alas! These were not your ordinary thank you notes. With permission granted by the photographer, Cherish This Moment, we used a selected number of photos to create a collage of the event. Included was a few selected songs played at the wedding that included the processional, recessional, first dance and a few other classics. The original invitation was designed to include the insertion of the thank you that replaced the RSVP card.
