Second Chance Pet Adoptions, a local non-profit pet rescue agency in the Raleigh, North Carolina area initially came to EC Stewart Design & Communications for help in developing a new header for their existing Web site. As this activity progressed it became apparent that Second Chance needed more than just a header for its Web site. As a result, ECS|DC was asked to develop a new branding scheme for the organization as well as all associated materials.

Reaching to the core of Second Chance's mission, ECS|DC developed a refreshing logo based around an animals footprint juxtaposed with the Second Chance name. This illustrates a contradistinction between human structure and bestial unconformity. The new design also gives it flexibility to be used with any number of activities in which the organization engages. Accompanying the logo is a new design palette intended to reflect the down-to-earth nature of Second Chance's mission which, when combined with the logo design, presents a friendly face to the community it serves.
