Bacchus on Record Makes Rounds in NYC

Art on Record is an exhibit held in NYC twice a year and as a multi-artist show, I was invited earlier this year to participate. The instruction was to apply the art to a specific substrate: The vinyl record.

Artist Statement:
We love to experiment with our showcase cat, Bacchus & the Ball of Yarn within the CalligraphyPets series. Originally illustrated in brush and ink, this sleek feline allows us to manipulate a variety of materials to promote a varied solution to any challenge.

In this exercise, the round substrate (the vinyl record) encouraged us to accent and compliment the elegant calligraphic lines of Bacchus while the final project reveals the juxtaposition of man-made and natural materials: wood and leather.
